Since rechartering the pack on 9/09/09 our Cubmaster has been busy keeping things going.  He is a third generation scout and former cub scout from Pack 458 back in the 1970's where his dad was a leader.  As a Cub Scout he earned his Arrow of Light and religion medal, as Boy Scout he earned 44 merit badges and made it to the rank of Eagle, meanwhile as an Explorer Scout he achieved the Explorer GOLD in 1984.  He continued to support scouting as an Explorer Advisor, Cub Scout trainer and merit badge counselor. As adult leader he has completed all of the adult leader requirements as a trained leader and been awarded the District of Award of Merit and he has completed Wood Badge training (Eagle Scout equivalent for adults) plus several other leader awards.  When he is not busy running around doing pack stuff you can find him up at Boulder Creek Scout Reservation getting ready for a Cup-Parent Weekend or shooting sports event.   He is also a nationally certified USA Level 3 Archery instructor-coach and NRA firearms instructor and range safety officer and serves as a BSA Rangemaster.  Oh yeah and do not forget he also serves as our Popcorn Kernal too!

Joshua has two children in scouts, a son and a daughter, both of which are Eagle Scouts.  His Scouting career started as a Wolf Scout at the San Francisco Bay Area Council's Tres Ranchos District day camp many years ago.  He then completed his Wolf, Bear, Webelos and Arrow of Light in the Okinawa District of the Far East Council before starting Boy Scouts and completing his Scout through First Class ranks there as well. Next he moved to the Bavaria District within the Transatlantic Council, where he eventually earned his Eagle Scout rank in June 1991 after completing a service project which helped support the army units in Kuwait as part of Desert Shield.  He was a member of the Black Eagle Lodge of the Order of the Arrow, and was a staff member for Golden Falcon - the National Youth Leader Training program for Transatlantic Council.  While a Boy Scout, he participated in many activities, including international events in Okinawa, Germany, and Austria; hiking a Philmont Trek, attended the 1989 National Jamboree and was on youth staff and the 1993 National Jamboree.  He has also spent two summers working at Camp Hi-Sierra and volunteered at Camp Takima day camp the past three summers.  He has worked in libraries for many years, including as a Children's Librarian, a Branch Manager, and a cataloger.  Now since his son Zachary bridged to Troop 27 in 2017 he remains helping the pack as a den leader. assistant cubmaster, popcorn kernal, dish washer, and anywhere he is needed!

I began my Scouting journey as a Tiger Cub in Gainesville, Florida; but due to changing family circumstances did not advance beyond Bear ranking.  I'm a father of three children; one is currently in the Bear den, the other two will hopefully be following behind in the next couple years.  I'm a graduate from the University of Florida with Bachelors and Masters in Electrical Engineering.  I have professional experience working in Oil and Gas, Consumer and Enterprise Robotics, Avionics Control Hardware, and most recently building LiDAR sensors for the self driving car industry.  I'm an avid DIYer around the house and will soon be licensed in Ham Radio operation.

As a youth Mr. Bhalla was a cub scout and earned his Eagle Scout in 0000 from SM Troop 42.  He first served as our bear den leader with his oldest son Veer who is now a boy scout in Troop 42, then helped den lead the webelos another year as his daughter Anaya earned her Arrow of Light and bridged to SM Troop 4042.  Now he is starting all over again with his youngest son Dev.  Did I mention both of Varun's brothers are T42 Eagle Scouts?  Varun serves 60 days as den leader and then 60-75 days deployed at sea navigating his tanker ship as the Captain for Chevron.
