Just like in any youth activities there are cost to join and maintain memberships and for the uniform and gear. Our pack tries to do everything we can to keep these costs at a minimum, however there are costs we cannot control and the ones we can we do, so see below.
Scouts BSA membership and Pacific Skyline Council membership ($72ea)
January through December effective August 01, 2023
This is required for first time applications or unit transfers.
This is a monthly magazine mailed to your scout. *This is optional.
This fee covers all the annual awards, pins, patches, beads. Instead of awarding your scout 2-3 times a year, we prebuy the items and have them on hand for when you scout earns them verses waiting months.
Upon arriving to the meeting each scout is required to sign in on the attendance roster and pay meeting dues. You scout should earn an allowance from doing chores, this way he/she learns hard work earns money and fun has a cost which they pay for and feel more pride that THEY earn their way.
BSA requires a parent partner for all kindergarten and first grade scouts, Den Leaders, and Committee Members.
Scouts BSA membership and Pacific Skyline Council membership ($55ea)
All registered adults are required to have a criminal background check.
This is a monthly magazine mailed to your home. *This is optional.
All registered leaders and committee must complete the online BSA Youth Protection Training and then the AB506 Mandated Reporter training and complete a one-time LiveScan. Fee varies depending upon where you go.
Like any youth program there is a uniform. Prices are approximate
Dark blue short sleeve uniform shirt with CSP & World Crest patches sewn on, CM will give you the P458 patch to sew on. Buy it a size larger, plan to grow into it until 5th grade change up to khaki uniform shirt.
Each year in May your scout will advance in rank regardless if they earn the rank badge so you will need a new cap, neckerchief, slide, and handbook.
First Grade- Tiger (orange)
Second Grade- Wolf (red)
Third Grade- Bear (lite blue)
Fourth Grade- Webelos-1 (plaid)
Fifth Grade- Webelos-2 / Arrow of Light (plaid)
Royal blue tee to be worn under the Class-A shirt.
Also have adult sizes for parents for field trips and camping, not intended for non-scout siblings.
Where do all those patches and special pins go? On the brag vest, you scout decides where to sew them on, pin them on. We even have small heat press irons on hand to load, just ask and sign one out.
If you have any questions, please feel free to ask your Cubmaster.
